Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for visiting software engineering support for analysis, tuning, and modification of its Yaskawa/Motoman robot servo controllers. This requirement involves modification of embedded software in the Motoman robots. Engineers will work with Space Servicing Capabilities Office (SSCO) to modify parameters and code to mitigate the contact instability and tune the controllers. The technicians are required to perform routine and emergency maintenance of the SSCO robots.
Deliverables or Delivery Schedule This effort will entail support services for the Motoman Robot as follows: (1) Analyze HSC and DX100 controllers to determine where system latencies are occurring and their accessibility from the user level. (2) Disable any sources of latency that are accessible from the user level to determine their affect on system performance. (3) Develop embedded controller updates to further reduce any system latencies not accessible at the user level. (4) Tune the servo controller for operation with reduced trajectory shaping or control feed-forward capability resulting from reducing latency. (5) Scheduled unscheduled maintenance of the four SSCO robots.
Delivery schedule will be on an “as-needed” based, subject to prior coordination between SSCO and engineering support.
Government-Furnished Equipment and Government-Furnished Information N/A
Place of Performance Execution of this work shall take place both onsite at NASA/GSFC in Building 27N and offsite at contractor facility.
Period of Performance The performance period is 1 year from date of award.
